Can't Upgrade! Why? HELP

A

ARADURS

Just noticed...although I have automatic updates on zero updates since last
year!

So tried to do this manually...

Says checking computer has the latest version...click Express or Custom
I click Express
Says checking on latest updates...
hen says Files required to windows update are no longer registered or
installed on your computer..
....to continue click Register or reinstall files (recommended)
So clicked this...
Says downloading the latest updating software
...then get the choice of clicking Express or Custom buttons again!!

Seems to be in a loop.

Any advice please?

Thanks. Dave

Check the responses you have gotten in other groups to this same question.
Please don't post repeatedly in multiple groups. Choose the most appropriate
and post to just the one. Many of us cover the same groups, so posting in
this manner will not get you any faster or different answers. Getting
conflicting advice in multiple groups will only serve to add to your
problem, not alleviate it.

Note for future reference - if you want to ask a question in more than one
group, post a single message to all the relevant groups at once (separate
the group names with commas). This is called crossposting, and is preferable
to 'multiposting' as everyone can see the same responses, and you won't be
(inadvertently) asking people to duplicate the efforts of others.

Why are you replying to *me*, my friend ? I didn't top post; I posted
inline.

However, I find the old "top post / bottom post" debate tiresome and don't
want to get dragged into it.
