Can't uninstall under Add/Remove

Need to uninstall Drive Image 7.0 in order to install update 7.01. Using
Add/Remove get error message "RTC File Error" and little later 2nd message
"Fatal error during installation."

Tried renstalling 7.0, but got the same RTC File Error. System Restore to
prior date didn't help. Can't find anything in Microsofts KB on this or in
XP's "Help and Support." Drive Image doesn't have a separate uninstall
routine. Update 7.01 won't install with 7.0 still active. Appreciate any
wisdom on this.
 
If I understand it correctly, Drive Image 7 works with .Net
components. Therefore, a process may be running that is
preventing you from uninstalling. You may have to go thru
the process tree and "End Process" anything related to DI7.
After the processes are terminated you "should" be able to
remove version 7.0.
 
FWIW --- Got this fixed. Turns out not a Windows problem, but a Drive Image
problem. PowerQuest advised deleting the Registry entry for the install
routine which fixed the problem.
