cant transfer access files from 97 to 2000

we have data in access 97 and need to change it to a different computer with
access 2000 and it will not tranfer correctly. We get a error in converting
it and compiling.
 
If its data mdb, open a new mdb in Access2000 and import all the tables from
Access97 instead of converting it.
