Can't send Windows Mail

I have Vista Home Premium and all of a sudden I cannot send emails. The
error message isop.gmail.com'Server:'SMTP.gmail.com',Protocol:SMTP,Server
Response:'500 5.5.1 Command Unrecognized', Port 25, Secure (SSL): Yes, Server
Error:500, Error Number 0x800CCC62. Thank you for your help.

I suspect you've never been able to send using Port 25. See
