Can't send second email

Can somebody offer a suggestion before I visit my friend in a few
days, so that I can take some useful ideas with me please?
(I am not a beginner, but I am using W98 and I don't use
MSN/Hotmail. She is relatively computer illiterate and is using Win
XP and (I assume) IE 6).

When my friend uses her MSN account and looks at her Hotmail email,
she can only reply to _one_ email. Whenever she tries to reply to a
_second_ one, the browser reports "This page cannot be displayed",
and she has to log out and in again before she can send another
email.

TIA for ideas
 
I have now found out from my friend:
when the "cannot be displayed" message is shown, the status bar
message is
"Cannot find server or DNS error".
