cant send or receive 2 times

When using windows mail I can only send receive once if I try to send
receive again after the first time I get a error message and have to close
windows mail and open it again so I can send receive. What can I do?

How long do you wait between Send/Receive sessions?

Post the complete (verbatim) error message.
