You have entered an incorrect mail server name.
You must obtain the correct mail server names from your mail provider.
Who provides your email service? Or to ask that question another way,
what is the part of your email address after the @ symbol?
Your mail provider will typically have a web page that shows how to
set up an email program. If you need more help, tell us the name of
your email service provider.
Gary, suddenly I'm having the same problem, not able to send, only receive
emails through Microsoft. My provider, Comcast says the smtp server name is
smtp.comcast.net, exactly as I have it in MS mail. All my other settings are
identical to what they were when there was no problem. So something must be
wrong with MS mail.
Dave
It is not a problem with Windows Mail. Comcast recently changed there port settings.
Call their tech support and get the new port requirements.
Keep elevating the question until you get someone who knows.
