any suggestions

In your browser go to http://mail.yahoo.com. Log in with your AT&T
credentials. Delete the oldest message you see there, and any
others that look suspicious or unwanted. Then try WM again.

Are you able to log in using webmail and delete the oldest message that
comes up unread? Does that help?

Here's some places to look for help:

thank you that worked, but it still wont send emails..the email shows in my
sent box but the receiver doesnt get it...

You may also have to delete the oldest message in the Outbox.

If it won't delete, download and install this fix, with Windows Mail
not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common antivirus
programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee, or a recent
one from Trend, tend to cause various problems in Windows Mail,
although seldom immediately, so if you have such a program,
remember where to find the fix - you are likely to need it again.

There not stuck in the outbox, the mail shows up in the sent box, but the
recipient doesnt receeve it..

That often means a problem further out on the connection than on your
computer, maybe even on the recipient's computer. If you send a message
using webmail, does it get through? If you send mail to one of your
other accounts, does it get through?

Do you still get an error message when trying to send mail? If so,
is it the same error message?

no other error message.. my webmail works .. i try to send an email to myself
and i dont receive it. and i send it to my wifes mail on this computer and
she doesnt get it!!

Good to hear your receiving is working now.

Sending failure without an error message, and without getting stuck
in the outbox, is usually caused by an incompatible antivirus program.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, NOT just disabled.
I suggest that you do a temporary uninstall of your antivirus.
You can always reinstall it if there is no improvement.

If there is improvement, download and install a more
compatible antivirus like:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.

my mistake, my wifes doesnt work either, her mail goes to the sent box, and
the receiver doesnt get the mail

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

now today, it shows i received email but i the mail is not in my inbox, and I
still cannot send email, it goes to my sent box but it does not make it to
the receiver!!
