HELLO HELP PLEASE JUST PURCHASED LAPTOP, CAN'T WRITE E-MAIL I RECEIVE THIS
MESSAGE:

Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR not supported 8pf3759567ywg.0', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

In Windows Mail go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties,
Servers, uncheck "Log on using Secure Password Authentication".

I too have been unable to send e-mail. I first noticed it on 6-30-08. I
send it and it goes to my out box but never gets sent. One of the e-mails I
wrote on 6-30-08 is still in the outbox because it won't delete.

If there is no error message when you press Send, then at least one
of the messages in the Outbox is stuck. To confirm this, open the
Outbox and try to move as many of those messages as you can to the
Drafts folder. If any won't move and can't be deleted, apply this
Microsoft fix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090

Note that this problem often occurs after running a non-compatible
antivirus program for a while.

There is indeed one stuck message and a box appears that says "cannot save
message. An error has occurred". I applied the fix you indicated and ended
up with a box that said "error. 0x8007000d and everything stopped. The
message in the outbox is still stuck and I still can't send e-mail.

I applied the fix and encountered an error message stating:
error.0x8007000d. At that point, everything stopped. What now?
