Can't send Attachments

I have Outlook 2002 on Windows Media Center operating system with SP2. I
can't send attachments. The recipient receives a "winmail.dat" file and
can't open it. However, if they send me an e-mail, I can usually send the
attachment by piggy-backing off of their original message.

Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Thanks!

Yes. This is usually caused by an Outlook user sending in Rich Text Format
(Outlook default) to a non-Outlook user. Try changing your email format to
either plain text or HTML.
