One of my computers uses Outlook 2002 with Home XP 2002.

I have two email accounts set up in Outlook. #1 I use at my home. #2 is if
I'm visiting my family and use their DSL account. I have #1 set up as the
default account. However, whenever I start outlook it tries to send by
account #2. Clicking the Accounts button in the email message window shows
account #2 checked and I always have to manually check account #1. So I why
does outlook always try to send on account #2 when in the Tools/Email
Accounts #1 is set as default?

thanks.

New messages or replies? outlook sends on the account it was received on. In
your situation, I would recommend copying the profile and setting the SMTP
server information the same in both accounts (to #2's) - then using the
profile copy when you are visiting.

Alternately, make two profiles, one for account 1 and one for account 2.

rj, I don't really know, I'm not an expert. Seems to me though that
"Accounts" and the "Send Using" feature, found under File in a new message
Menu Bar, are not connected or related to each other. I've had the problem
with a four accounts set up. The default is the one I receive with. What
I've learned to do is substitute a "Send Using" button for my "Send" button
in a new message screen and after hitting that choose the account I want to
send from. This by the way has nothing to do with Send and Receive in Tools
and applies to Outlook only. Denzil.
