Can't run BAT file shortcuts anymore

I have a shortcut to a .BAT file on my Desktop. When I double-click on it, a
window pops up indicating that I need to choose a program to open the .BAT
file with.

It's almost like my Windows XP (SP2) has lost the association between .BAT
files and the Command Interpreter. When I choose the Command Interpreter as
the program, the Command Interpreter opens up but it doesn't launch the .BAT
file.

Can you go to dos mode and run the Bat file from the command line?

The command interpreter is *not* an application to open the document - bat
files are just text files, that can be opened in Notepad.

I think you actually need to go to the DOS mode and run the file from the
command line.

Ramesh,

This fixed my problem.... thank you very much!

(Actually, I guess I should've perused the newsgroups a little more, 'cause
I found your suggestion in another posting. Thanks again!)

Regards,

Greg
