Can't remove AD

I'm having problems removing the last DC from my childdomain. During the
dcpromo process (I checked the first checkbox, "this is the last DC") I get
the following error:

The operation failed beacause:

The Directory Service was unable to transfer the domain wide FSMO roles(PDC
and Rid master) to another Domain Controller in this domain. A possible
cause may be that no other servers are online to receive the FSMO, or the
Direcotry Service has a record of a server that no longer exists.

"The DSA object could not be found."

I'm suspecting a DNS problem since there were some problems with the DNS
prior to running dcpromo.

I just want to remove the domain without screwing up the whole forest!

best regards,
Johan

Actually, the whole problem lies in a replication error.
The childdomain lies in it's own site, "Uppsala", and tries to replicate to
"Default First Site". However the Default First Site has been renamed to
"Lund".
The childdomain doesn't seem to have understood this change and still tries
to replicate to site "Default First Site".

Can I export the DNS zone from a DNS in "Lund" and import it into a DNS in
"Uppsala"?

or...

Can I force a "hard-coded" replication to a specific site?.

I tried to remove the DNS service and then reinstalling it again, but the
old entries where still there. How do I really remove the zone?
