The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

Account: 'POP-server.columbus.rr.com', Server:
'SMTP-server.columbus.rr.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 Invalid
address syntax', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number:
0x800CCC79

In spite of what the subject line of your post says, the error message
you submitted is a send error, not a receive error.
Also, part of the error message is missing, so I'm not able to give
you the exact reason for the "Invalid address syntax" error.
I would guess that there was a typo in the recipient's email address.

550 errors mean either you're attempting to use a sending (SMTP) server that
your ISP doesn't own and operate, or you have an authentication (name,
password, "My server requires authentication") setting that's incorrect.

When I send a message I get it returned with a message from System
Administrator:
"550 #5.1.0 Address rejected"
"553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts"
"Relaying prohibited"

How do I fix this?
