can't print from browser

B

Bretzky

I'm losing my mind.

First, the info: IE 6.0, Win 98, Canon BJC 4200.
The problem: I can print from anything else (including
other browsers), except for IE and Outlook. I used to be
able to, but now I can't.

When I try to print, I receive the following:
Line 639
Char 1
Error invalid argument
code 0
url res://c:\windows\system\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg

When I click on file, page setup (in browser), this
message pops up:
Error 19
object doesn't support this property or method

I have tried the following: Reinstall the printer, repair
IE 6.0, checking unicode, extracting and registering the
iepeers.dll file... banging my head on the monitor.

I've been looking for answers for days and would really
appreciate some help.

Is the Windows'98 software up todate with the latest updates and
patches? Have you checked at the Windows Update website? See:

Mike - you're a champ. I can't believe that after days of
work (see above!), this simple little fix actually worked.
For anyone else that might be looking at these threads for
an answer, here is the solution that worked as provided by
Mike:

You may be able to work around this problem by disabling
third-party browser extensions in Internet Explorer. To do
so, follow these steps:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, clickInternet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Click to clear the Enable third-party browser
extensions (requires restart) check box.
5. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Thanks again!

Mike,

It worked... I can print now... what's all this about
a "BHO"? And while we're on it - what the heck is a "BHO"?
You've got me worried now!
