Can't open this item. Out of memory..

Outlook 2003/Exchange Server 2K on Win XP Pro. Plenty of
memory/disk space.

About once a week, Outlook goes belly up for no
discernable reason. The Preview window goes dark, and
attempting to open any item (mail or contact) results in
the message: Can't open this item. Out of memory or
system resources. Close some windows or programs and try
again.

The ONLY way to fix this is to do a complete "Detect and
Repair" and restore shortcuts to defaults. Which is a
pain and takes about 5 minutes.

Is anyone elses experiencing this awful glitch? Is the a
fix? All windows and office patches have been applied.

Thanks in advance if you can help.

I'm having the same problem. I tried the "fix" (detect
and repair) but it didn't resolve this problem.

I'm not able to open ANY email, nor am I able to view the
majority of options with in outlook, all with the same
error. The only way I have been able to get it to work is
if (big if) outlook happens to crash, when it re-opens it
works correctly, OR if I switch to a IMAP mail server
(from Exchange 2003) it works correctly.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue is?

PLEASE HELP!
