Can't open the file ...

Hi everyone!
Can someone help me.
I work in Helpdesk Center and a user reported today some
problems opening a Excel file. That file is password
protected and when I insert the correct possword a popup
message indicate that Excel can´t open the file.
I tryed hard to open in different computers, with
Microsoft query and with Microsoft Visual Basic 6 with ADO
connections. All my efforts return the same message
("can´t decrypt the file"), do anyone know's some way of
extracting the file content??

Any help wold be gratefull
