Can't open REGEDIT, MSCONFIG or Task Manager

I think I have a virus, but I can't find it. I have done
a scan with my Norton AntiVirus, Ad-Aware and Spybot. And
while they did clean up a lot of trash, I still can't
open those files. What do I do next?

The type of behavior you describe is typical behavior of more than
one virus/worm, the three below being the most common:

W32.Klez

W32.Yaha
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]

W32.Spybot.Worm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.spybot.worm.html

Because many of the newer viruses and worms, such as the
Spybot mentioned above, can disable antivirus applications whose
definitions aren't kept up-to-date, try using one or more of the free
on-line scanners to double-check your system.

Trend Micro - Free online virus Scan

McAfee Security - FreeScan

Symantec Security Check

I have updated and run the following: Norton AntiVirus,
Housecall, Panda ActiveScan, FreeScan, Security Check, Ad-
Aware, Spybot and Stinger (phew!) and I still can't open
regedit, msconfig, Task Manager and Safe Mode. I have
however, made working copies using emergency.utils. I
checked the registry and could not find any of the
changes refered to by securityresponse.symantec for the 3
virus/worms shown below. What do I do now?
