can't open picture attachments in forwarded mail

I can't open pictures attached to a message that has been forwarded to me.
Whether I try to open from the message header or save to disk and then open I
receive a message from MS Photo Editor: "Can't determine type." The file
extension is .jpg and I can open pictures attached to mail sent directly to
me; i.e., not forwarded. I use MS Windows XP Home Ed (SP2) and Outlook 2002
(SP3).

MS Photo Editor has limitations in what kind of pictures it can open,
especially large pictures like from digital cameras. Note that Outlook
dosn't have to do anything with this. See if you can open it in another
picture viewer like IrfanView (free).
