Can't open my Word attachments

Starting this week several people who have had no problem in the past report that they can't open my Word document attachments sent from Outlook 2003, or they're all gobbledygook. I save them all as Word docs using the default setting. I upgraded to 2003 a few months ago, but just got complaints this week from several. I have sent them both via AOL and via Compuserve
I'm using Windows 'XP with plenty of memory and free space

Tried it. For some people it helps, but not for all. Any other ideas?
