can't open my outlook

ever since i upgraded from windows 98 to windows xp home
edition a couple of months ago a error messege keep
coming up that it can not open outlook. anyone ever had
this problem or know of a fix please help i need that to
work again i am a novice
 
What is the exact text of the error message, and what version of Outlook are
you trying to use?
