can't open MS works database program on another computer

haven't upgraded from original installation, but needed the database for a
project. Have disk of database, but can't bring it up on another computer.
Isn't "Works" Programs a Microsoft program?

Yes, but it is not part of the Windows operating system. You must
purchase it separately.

Works databases can usually be opened in Excel; oddly, there is no
direct way to open them or import them in Access.
