Cant open documents sent in email

Weird. This just started. I have Windows XP and when docs
(Word or Excel) are sent via email, I can't just
click "Open" and Open them. I can save the Word docs and
then open them and cant open the Excel at all.

Any ideas why this would be happening? This has never
happened before. Is it a security issue?

have you checked that "tools/options/security/do not allow attachments to be
opened which may contain a virus has been UNchecked?
