Can't open attachments: word, excel, power point

I can not open attachment, send by email, in Windows Xp.

Hi

Try this if you use Outlook Express:

With OE open go to Tools>Options>Security and uncheck 'Do not allow
attachments to be saved...'. If you do this, please make sure that you
virus check all attachments before opening them.

Do you have those applications or the appropriate reader installed on
your computer?
You will not be able to read them without the appropriate application.

After sp2 install, pps attachments in OE will not open the PowerPointViwer
although it did work pre-sp2. If I save the file to memory, then it opens
OK. After trying several things, MS support thinks that I need to repair
winxp.

I can open work, excel, and jpeg OE attachments fine. I think the error is
in AM because pps is not listed in 883260. When I do a repair install I
will find out.
