Cant open anything in a new window

LITHIA

Hi,

My internet explorer has seemed to stop opening anything
in a new window. If there is some javascript or some html
which requests a new window to be opened, it opens a new
explorer window - but ie doesnt do anything. It just stays
at a blank page, its like there isn't an address being
sent to it. This is the same when i right click a link and
press Open in a new Window.
l
I have tryed reinistalling, after getting ots of error
messages saying i already have later versions - edited the
registry so i could reinstall. But then I get an error
message saying the software im installing isnt signed by
microsoft logo testing. What the hell? This is internet
explorer made by microsoft, you shouldn't be getting that
sort of error message in a setup should you! It doesnt
give me the option to uninstall, which i think is really
bad.

So im really stuck here. Plrease help. thanks

Hi Lithia,

1. Click [Start] [Run] type:
(Press Enter after each command)
Regsvr32 /i URLMON.DLL
Regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll
Regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

2. Restart Windows
3. Open IE [Tools] [Internet Options] [Programs] [Reset Web Settings]

If this does not help, run this fix:
http://mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/IEFix.exe

Manual procedure: (Microsoft Knowledge article link)

Hey cool thanks! It worked great!

I had a little problem with Regsvr32 /i actxprxy.dll but it worked without
me doing it.

Thanks again, I dunno what I would have done without you! Opera just doesn't
do some of the things IE does!

You're most welcome, Lithia.

NOTE: No need to use "/i" parameter for registering actxprxy.dll. "Regsvr32
actxprxy.dll" is enough. For the other DLL files, use /i parameter.
