I have a shared folder called MOVIES and I have tried to move other video
files to this folder but a popup
advises I do not have permission to move files into the MOVIES directory.
I looked up setting permission in the properties of that folder but most of
the choices are greyed out.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You probably already found it by now, but in case you didn't: this may
be caused by the preview icon that's being displayed. Some codecs
keep the file open after creating the preview, and IIRC, the earliest
Vista versions of DivX were guilty of this.

It is possible turn off preview icons for certain file types, but I
don't remember straight away how to do it :(

The other solution: move from the command line, cmd.exe. Make sure
the folder containing the files isn't open in explorer.
