Can't modify design templates

Hello all,

I have been supplied with an SLD file from a third party. I'm pretty
new to XPe and I was wondering if it is possible to modify a design
template. I have found that I can add certain things to it, but (for
example) if I try and remove "Command shell" and replace it with
"Explorer shell" there is a collision detected.

In summary, I am wondering if you are completely free to modify a
design template and if not, what the restrictions are.

What collision is detected? Some components will work
together and some won't. Are you actually removing or
disabling the command shell before adding the explorer
shell?
