Can't Make Video

i have an ATI All-In-Wonder 128 PCI. i use the program that comes with it.
i'm not sure what version it is, but the TV part of the program that is used
for capturing is ATI TV 7.1.

Anyway, here is my problem. i can capture pictures just fine. But when i
capture video, it saves them as these mp2 files that i can't view. i can't get
the video files i create to load in either version of Windows Media Player i
have on my computer, and they won't even load on the ATI File Player that's a
part of the program that is creating them! Any idea what i can do? i really
need to make video files.

Did you install the Ati DVD player?

You need the DVD player to play the .Mp2 files produced by Ati MMC.
Otherwise record at Mpeg1 format, and play with the bitrate/ frame size.
That works fine with media player.

I found that the ".vcr" format is somewhat jerky on my system, and doesn't
save any disk space as opposed to DVD high quality at 8mbits. DVD HQ also
saves to mpg2, which plays fine on WinDVD 4 and looks much better. ".vcr" is
an ATI proprietary format. I really don't care for the ATI file player
either. It's sort of a bare bones player.
