Cant Logg Off

When i have been in my account for 20 min, and then try to Logg Off the
system will not let me. The only way i can get out is to pres the power off
button.

Any advice would be appreciated.

"The system won't let me" leaves lots of room for
guessing. Please report in detail what happens when
you try to log off.
 
Please explain "Won't let me", is the log off option not available or does
the system hang when you click logoff ?

Whenever you abruptly remove power from a PC, the disk drive will
likely become marked "Dirty" (have inconsistent data). Removing power
prevents XP from flushing data to the drive and closing the Registry hives.

You need to run Chkdsk C: to determine the drive's state. You can do
this from a Command Prompt, by clicking Start, Run (Type) Cmd [Enter]
The cursory (Read-Only) Chkdsk will report if a /F or /R (Fix or Repair)
run of Chkdsk is necessary.

If your PC has a "Reset" button, use that instead of removing power.

To help with closing the Current User Registry Hive, you might want to
download and install the MS Service add-on - User Profile Hive Cleanup:
