fine, but after the point where it shows the windows xp
logo and shows that its loading, the monitor either stays
blank or it tells me that its not getting a signal.
SOmetimes it does work but the color resolution and size
is extremely terrible. I need help, its impossible i broke
it already since its new

Hi

If you mean that the monitor isn't receiving a signal you ought contact your PC supplier - as the system is only a week old.

Hi Mike,

Bad or loose video cable, or possibly a bad video card. As Will said, since
the system is new, do not tinker with it to much other than to rule out the
obvious. This is what warranties are made for.

First of all, note that this is a hardware problem, not a Windows
one.

The first thing to try is the connection from the monitor to the
computer. My guess is that the connection just isn't tight
enough.

If that's not it, try opening the case, and reseating the video
card. Make sure it's firmly in the slot.

Failing those things, either the video card, the cable, or the
monitor is bad--regardless of how new it is. Return the computer
to the vendor. They should fix it under warranty.

your resolutiuon is set too hight, boot into safe mode and select a better
resolution, restart, and adjust it so it isn't oo high (1024X768 for 15 inch
monitors) (1600X1200 for 19'' monitors)
