Cant install vista(some ide driver problem), Help! pls.

When i try to install vista from XP i get this error when i have to select
the drive in which i want to install..
Error msg:
"Can install vista on this drive because ide drivers(ide channel drivers)
not found."
it is not included in motherboard cd.

System specs:
p4 2.8GHz
mercury motherboard intel 845GL chipset
NVIDIA GeForce 5600XT graphics card
parallel ide Segate hard drive 120 gig.

My wife's computer had a similar issue. I found out that she was
booting to her hard drive on the old operating system, putting the
Vista disk in, and trying to over-write her Windows file from there. I
told her to boot to the Vista DVD and proceed with the installation
from there. To do this, go to your BIOS setup and make sure your DVD
is set before your hard drive on the boot priority screen. Once she
booted from the DVD, it installed like a champ.
