cant install game on D: drive

I have a dual boot system with 1 boot on C: and 1 on D: drive. each drive
is locked out from the other so if for instance the D: boot wants to copy a
file to the C: drive -- not allowed. C: cant copy to D: either. ( I do
this so each boot can be independent and not affect the other)

Anyway, I am trying to install a game on the D: boot, but it wants to
copy files to c:\windows but it cant so the game wont install.

Does anyone know how to set some switches or something so that the game
will know that it has to install on the operating system that is currently
running?

Thank You

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Most programs offer you the chance to change the drive letter and/or folder
to install games into. Otherwise use: subst c: [x]:\

It does give me the option to install it in d:\program files and it does
install most of the files to that folder, but half way throught the
installation it says "error! cannot create folder" and quits. I am pretty
sure it is trying to create folder on the c: drive like many programs want
to do since they expect windows to be on the C: drive
