Can't install Adobe Reader

I'm trying to install Adobe Reader and get the following message: "The Temp
folder is on a drive that is full or is inaccessible. Free up space on the
drive or verify that you have write permission on the Temp folder." I have
saved the Adobe install file to a 300 Gig hard drive with a clean install of
Vista and Office 2007. Nothing else is on it. 259 Gigs are free to use. I
am running into one security over ride after another while transferring my
document files, my pst files, etc. Roadblocks each step of the way. Lots of
security. I'm the sole user/administrator here and would like to be able to
install my programs! Any help would be aprreciated.

Thanks,
Robert

Leave error message open.

search for adobe (advanced search - search computer)

start install again from temp folder.

It will install ok.

This is an error related to the annoying user account control thing that
everyone turns off immediately after install. If that is turned on, the
install goes ok without this workaround.

Tom

Try saving it to your desktop then running it from there.
That's how I installed it last week.

Right click the Adobe set up file, and choose Run as administrator.

Problem solved by turning user account control back on. Very annoying. I
can't seem to do anything without being told that I don't have access to do
something.

Thanks for the help on that .

It's not telling you that you don't have access. It lets you do it without
even typing in a password. UAC is simply confirming that you really asked
the administrative task to run and that it wasn't requested by some unknown
malware on your PC.

I hate to sound like Firewall2 here but, Isn't Vista wonderful?

No that aspect of it is a major pain in the arse.
