Can't go to page 2 on a new Word doc.

I am using Office 2003 and when I open a new word doc. and start typing.
When the first page is full it will not go to paget 2. If I keep typing, you
can't see what you are typing and if you do a print preview it only shows
page 1. You can remove some of the text on page one and what would have been
on page 2 now shows on page one. If you print you will only get page 1.

I have removed Office 2003 and reinstall but I have the same problem.
Everything is fine untill you want a two page doc.

Any ideas?

I believe this is often caused by a corrupted column setting in Normal.dot.

In one of the misbehaving documents, try resetting the columns. Use Format |
Columns, make sure that "Apply to" is set to "Whole document" and click on
the "One" icon. OK the dialog.

If this solves the problem you'll need to make this change in Normal.dot;
see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm for instructions on
finding and editing it.

Thank You,
Could you just remove the normal.dot file and then open Word and let it
rebuild that file?

Yes, so long as you've no customizations you want to keep that will be fine.

To be on the safe side I would renaming Normal.dot to Normal.old or somesuch
rather than blowing it away completely - that way you can transfer macros
etc. or restore if you realise you are missing something further down the
track!
