Can't get USB Card Reader

After installing WINXP I can't get my USB Smart media
card to open - worked fine on WIN98
REmoved it from machine and restarted WIN but no luck!!
Help?

One possible problem is that the card reader is USB 1.0

and windows uses 2.0, but should read 1.0
Anyhow, try this: Uninstall the card reader in
ControlPanel, disconnect from PC, turn off PC. Reboot PC,
plug in Card Reader, now WindowsXP's plug&play feature
should state "new hardware found" and ask you if you want
to install it, answer "Yes" and it will then install it
or ask you to insert CD with drivers. You might also
have to check for updated drivers. Good luck!
