I'm using a laptop with a built-in wireless card. The card appears to be
enabled -- I see two entries in the Network section of Device Manager for it
-- but I can't make a wireless network connection via Control Panel -->
Network Connections. How can I access the Wireless Network Connection window?

Thanks,

Steve

Sorry if this question is too obvious but when you go into
Control Panel, do you see an Icon for "Wireless Connection Setup
Wizard"? Is that what you're looking for? If it's not there check
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Communications. If it's
not there then try copying and pasting the following into the Run
box:

%SystemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL
NetSetup.cpl,@0,WNSW

There are two ways to configure wireless connection:
1. Using the software provided the built-in wireless network card.
2. Using Windows Wireless Connection Settings.

To use Windows for wireless connection, go to Control Panel -> Network
Connections, right click the wireless network card icon and choose
properties. From there, you shoud see a second tag named "Wireless Network".
You can configure wireless connection there. If you don't see the tag, that
means the "Wireless Zero Configuration" service is not started. You can then
go to Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Services -> Wireless Zero Configuration
to start it and set it to start automatically. After that, you will see the
"Wirelss Connection" tag.

Hope it helps.
Martin.
