Can't get to site when url has "www" help!

Hello
This is strange, hopefully you can help!
When i go to some pages I can't access the web site!
BUT if I remove the "www" in the URL then I access the
site fine. I thought that the site was messed up but i am
able to access the site fine at work and library with or
without the www. Also I emailed some friends and they have
no problem either! Somehow my machine does not like "www"
on urls. ANY IDEAS? PLEASE HELP!! This is driving me crazy
and I do not have very far to go. One URL in particular is
http://alexchiu.com vs http://www.alexchiu.com . I am an
affilliate with his site so i am trying to get it to work
but it doesn't because the affil link I am to use uses
the "www" which causes problems on my computer. I get
the "The page cannot be displayed" "Cannot find server or
DNS Error"
Please help!
thanks,
Michael
