Can't get rid of small box in Word.

A small box (looks like a symbol) rides along with the writing and prints out
on a co-workers Word documents. We can not get rid of it.
 
Hi jclampett,

try to select the box plus the preceding character
plus the following character and cut it out.
If that doesn't work, try to enlarge the range to be cut.

If that doesn't work, I don't know.
