can't get photos out of my camera

There are a lot of threads like this and I've read them all. I have a Minolta2300 and can't load the driver that came with the camera. This seems to be a common problem with a lot of brands. Minolta told me they have no driver for this camera that will work with Windows XP and I should use a card reader. Is there any such thing as a 'generic' driver for XP. Maybe Microsoft has one? It's hard to find a place to ask them directly.

If Minolta says you need a card reader that's
probably the solution.

With your camera connected...go to...My Computer...
if your camera is recognized as a removable drive...
you should be able to access your image files from
there, if not...the card reader is probably your best bet.

There is no WinXP USB driver available for this camera. Your only solution
is to use an external card reader.
