Can't find the ampersand..

I fiddled about with the settings on my computer and now the ampersand has
disappeared and I get a " in it's place - I've tried changing 'regional
settings' in control panel, but that didn't work. Any ideas, anyone?
 
make sure you have the language bar showing by right clicking on the
taskbar>toolbars> language bar
and make sure you are writing in ENGLISH language.
