Can't find message data store

In OE 6 I used tools/options/maintenance/store folder to find out where OE
is storing my messages. I tried to then go to that location in Windows XP
Explorer, but it only goes as far as
as the folder that is something like 4492Axxxx. Within that folder there are
no further subfolders (should be two) or files! What happened to
Microsoft\Outlook Express?? My messages are fine when I go to inbox, they
are all there. I double-checked the path reported by the maintenance
tool\store folder, and I have it right. I checked to see if Explorer was
hiding folders or files, it is not. Explorer search with oiption to search
for hidden files does not find any .DBX files either. So where is my
Outlook data store?

Might want to verify that Windows Explorer is configured to show you all
hidden/system files. (See Tools | Folder Options | View tab)

Yes, I selected to SHOW HIDDEN AND SYSTEM FILES.
