can't find database Error

I have a shortcut to a mdb on my desk top. Each time I click on the shortcut
the database launches as it should but I get the following error:
"Windows cannot find 'C:\db1'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and
then try again. To search for a file, ckick the start button, and then click
search."
This is strang as I am in 'C:\db1. I only get this error mesage when using
the shortcut. If I go to db1 in the root of C:\ and double click the db1.mdb
icon I do not get this error.
Any thoughts?

Does the error persist even if you recreate the shortcut?
