I have two PPTs. The first has a hyperlink to the second. I followed advice
in other threads that suggested to create the second as a custom show. I've
done that. But when I try to create the hyperlink in the first presentation,
there are no Custom Shows listed. How do you link to a custom show of a
different PPT?

Try this:

Click on item that you want to use to do the linking (text or image)
Right click, Choose Action Settings
Select hyperlink button, browse to find your Custom Show

Custom Show can only be hyperlinked from the presentation itself, and not
from different presentation. (Custom show is used to play selected slides in
a presentation. If that is what you want, possible way is to link to the
second presentation using this method:
http://www.awesomebackgrounds.com/powerpointlinking.htm , then in the second
presentation, hyperlink to the custom show.)

Tell us what you want to do and we will provide further assistance. ;)

I want to have a hyperlink that takes the viewer from the main presentation
to a secondary presentation, and when finished with the secondary one,
returns the viewer back to the main one. I've tried hyperlinking and using
Action Settings. It works in PP but not so well after I've packaged it to a
CD. Sometimes the viewer and the secondary presentation stay open after the
main presentation is closed. What's the smoothest, most reliable way to do
this?
