Hi!
I have an issue that is starting to drive me nuts!
I have a database that used to run perfectly. Then, I "fixed" my office
install so the office updates site can now successfully see when updates are
available.
Ever since then, when I try to export a report to excel, I get the following
message: "The formats that enable you to output data as a Microsoft excel,
rich-text format, MS-DOS text, or HTML file are missing from the windows
registry." I have done the following things to fix my problem, and so far
nothing has worked.
1) Repaired Access Install. No Go.
2) Checked the registry entries. They appear to be correct to my limited
knowledege. (looked at the settings in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE: SOFTWARE:
MICROSOFT: Office: 11.0: Access: Report Formats)
3) Tried re-registering .dll files (including ACCWIZ.DLL, and msexcl40.dll).
Still no joy!
I do have the suspicion that there might be something wrong somewhere in the
registry as the trick that finally worked with the office updates problem was
to run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility which was supposed to just
remove the Windows Installer registry settings that were associated with my
Office installation. Any other ideas of what this cleanup utility might have
changed that I’ll want to change back?
Thanks for any hints/suggestions!!
