Cant execute any .exe files!!!

Hi how are ya people? well i ran into a problem today, while changing a
setting on ad-watch on my winxp sp2 and now i cant execute any .exe files i
went to tools and file types and i dont see .exe listed...i cant even open
regedit.exe nothin the windows select program from list or search the web
blah blah comes up its like my system doesnt reconigze the .exe file
extension any replys will be helpul thx in advance

Hi Locobans,

1. Click Start, Run and type Command

2. Type the following and then press Enter after typing each one:

cd\windows
regedit

3. Navigate to and select the following key:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command]

4. Double-click the (Default) value in the right pane.

5. Delete the current value data, and then type: "%1" %* [with quotes]
(ie., quote-percent-one-quote-space-percent-asterisk.)

6. Navigate to:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe]
In the right-pane, set the (default) value to exefile

7. Close Registry Editor.
