Can't enter data

I made a form in my database, but when I go to enter data, the field that has
the current date goes empty and I get an error message that says 'field
cannot be update.' When I click help, is says 'possible causes: You tried
to update a field in a record or table that is currently locked by another
user. Wait for the other user to finish working with the record or table, and
then try the operation again.
In Microsoft® Access, you tried to change the value of a control whose
Locked property is set to Yes. " None of those apply.

Can anyone help me?

We're not there. We have no idea of how you "made a form in your database".

Is your form based directly on a table, or on a query? If a query, is IT
updateable?

Which version of Access are you using? Do you have a "split" database
design, or is everything in a single .mdb file?

More specific descriptions will probably get you more specific suggestions.
