Can't end processes in task manager

Here's my problem:
There is a running process in task manager "kbas.exe". When I end the process, it just starts right back up again. You can watch another instance of it start up in the process window. My first thought was it was a virus. So I ran Norton Anti Virus (with updated defs) No virus. So then I thought it was spyware (I'm not totally convinced that it's not) Ran Spybot S&D and it found some things but it also said it fixed them. I restarted the computer hit CTRL/ALT/DLT, looked in task manager and there it was again/still. I searched for entries in the registry and found plenty. I deleted all the keys containing kbas.exe and restarted the computer. Still no luck. What is going on? Can anybody help?

A couple of things come to mind in this situation.

First, Locate the file on you PC - sometimes a path location
can help determine what the app is or belongs to. (Search)

Once you find the executable, Right Click it and then take
properties, Click on the Version Tab. From here you can
see descriptions of who created the module, version #,etc.

Once you have that data you can move on to finding where
it loads and how and take the necessary actions and if it's
a valid/needed module or something else (Malware,Virus)

Hi,

End the process, then find it either under Windows\System or System32 then
delete it. Also:

Check to see if it is listed here and do the same:

Start/Run/Msconfig/Startup and here: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
