You can not do this in XP home. However, there are many thir-party program
that can make encrypted files or folders. The danger in using them is that
if part of the key is ever corrupted, support may be hard to find. For
example, I had a neat little program that encrypted single files in 98, but
they became unreadable after upgrading to XP, since part of the key was
stored in the registry, which was changed radically between 98 and XP.
A potential alternative, if you do no need strong encryption, is to use
WINZIP. I believe that permits a password on a ZIP archive.
