Can't edit music clips from gallery with media player

When I am selecting a music clip from gallery the media player ( which I
understand is not the Windows MP) opens and the clip can be played. But I
want to use only a small part of the song in a continuous loop. The help
menu on the MP does not work, so I can't learn how to use the mark-setting
buttons correctly to isolate the part of the clip I want to loop. How can I
do this or where can I find the info?

Save the presentation as an HTML and it will save the sound files as separate
files that you can then use an appropriate sound editor to edit. WMP isn't a
sound editor, though.
