Please help! Everytime I try to download a software program from my cd or
floppy I get the following error message;
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
The system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows
applications. Choose close to terminate the application.
Even if I type in command.com in my run box the same message comes up.
Can someone please help me? Thank you.

Most times this error can be resolved by copying the file "autoexec.nt" from
C:\WINDOWS\REPAIR to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32.
(note: you may have to adjust your folder view to show hidden/system files)

If that doesn't do the trick see;

There is an automated fix @ http://www2.whidbey.net/djdenham/16bit_fix.htm

Frequently this problem crops up as a result of changes made by
ad/spy/malware so you may want to consider doing some system maintenance.
